As of today (9-3-06), we are waiting for the Attorney (see below for contact info) to review Archie's file and potentially file a "post conviction relief" motion.
Collectively we gathered (and sent) a total of $500.00 for the Attorney to review the above mentioned file, we hope to have an opinion from the Attorney on this matter by the week of 9-8-06 (hopefully).
The simple reality is that we (Aimee & Dan) spent many MANY MANY months attempting to obtain this file (see the Oregon State Bar link's below) from Archie's previous Attorney (Russell Barnett).
As of this writing, time is RUNNING SHORT as we only have until 9-15-06 to "file" the "post conviction relief motion" - should this effort fail, Archie will be spending the next 10 years in jail, with no other practical remedies to pursue...
NOTE: On the hopeful assumption that the Attorney does in fact discover some valid legal basis to file the above referenced motion, this will in fact cost a few thousand dollars...
